This collection consists of correspondence, newspaper clippings, color slides of Pewabic pottery and miscellaneous materials. Items include a journal of E.H. Brown, of Norwalk, Ohio, beginning Mar. 30, 1848, and a Bible inscribed in 1854; and the marriage service booklet and certificate of Mary Chase Perry ad William Buck Stratton on June 19, 1918.

Born in Hancock, Mich. on Mar. 15, 1867, Mary Chase Perry Stratton founded the nationally famous Pewabic Pottery Company in Detroit in 1907, named for a mine near her Upper Peninsula birthplace. After the sudden death of her father near the end of the 19th century, she came with her mother and two older siblings to Detroit, where her brother Fred worked as a druggist in 1900.
